Our scheme for your house is about 660 sqm with all the spaces entirely on the first first floor except the master bedroom which looks out from the front facade and over the central courtyard. We drew inspiration from the vast amount of wildlife and most importantly the aboriginal dot paintings. The paintings accentuate the organic geometry by using pulsing alliteration and overlapping.
We broke down the site into a curvilinear form and incorporated this method by having 4 distinct "wings" of spaces:
-The public wing in the front of the house containing the living room, dining room and kitchen which open directly up to the central courtyard.
-The private wing which houses the 3 children's rooms a stair to the master bedroom and a shared private retreat on the bottom floor.
-The personal wing that includes an office/study, the guest rooms and the home theatre.
-The storage wing which includes the garage and large multipurpose storage.
The negative space created in the center became a sheltered courtyard that engages each wing creating a perfect niche for the pool and outdoor deck/seating area.
