Chicago; one the greatest cities in the United States has played a significant role in President Obama’s life. Effecting his own and his family’s life through all the years of their residency through Obama’s presidential selection. The design policy is to bold the effect of the city on it’s inhabitants lives. The goal is to create spaces which can be organized with diversity. The diversity which allows individuals to become ever more ambitious over their personal life and lead to achieve self-development. The site area chosen; The Washington Park is known to be as a cultural and social local active zone. By considering all the urban and cultural demands of the surrounding area and the design policy, the outcome is to organize the building as a “social laboratory” which can respond to each individual’s needs through social interactions while it is going to become a small scale “Chicago Community” which eventually leads to “social sustainability”. The whole Building is a continuous space which has open plans on each levels. Spaces are organized beneath the upper surface which has been created by shifting the urban level. The open plans on levels provide people to modify the floor plans and create their own spaces based on their needs. The building shape fluctuates as it is going to connect the park to the urban area in order to make this connection ever stronger by providing diverse points of views and combining them physically. The open floor plans are also capable of responding to infinite numbers of visitors on each event or occasion, weather Christmas Eves Potluck parties, or workshops held by local inhabitants to teach technical skills to low income family members.
