I have one great big room which needs to be designed as a living room and dining room. I need to figure out how to design it. I live in a townhouse that is thirteen years old and in excellent condition. When you enter through the front door, there is a small entrance way and then my great room appears.
My budget is not an issue.
I would like to create two separate spaces- one for the living room and one for the dining room, however, the key is for them to work together since they are part of the same space. I like a contemporary look, and would like this living room/dining room space to be striking.
The fireplace cannot be removed nor can any windows be changed. There are cherry hard wood floors that currently exist. My house came with some traditional design, but I don't want to add more of that look. I do not want a TV in either room please.
BTW, I do have a family room(off the kitchen) that serves as the room the family relaxes in, so, this great room will be a step above that.
On the listing sheet, the living room is listed as 19 x 14 and the dining room is listed as 15 x 12. Obviously, this is not set in stone.
I am sending the original blue print. It says that there is a "knee wall"? I am not aware of any wall.
